Not so Spring "Break"

So- my ever so productive Spring Break has turned into cuddling and loving on my little man who came down with RSV. I have learned over the course of the past 6 months that trying to get a 2 year old to take medicine is about the hardest, most frustrating thing I have ever had to do. I feel like I have tried every trick in the book and the little booger just seems to know when there is medicine involved-even without trying whatever concoction I have came up with to fool him at the given moment. I think I have heard the words "Yucky juice" and "No medicine" more in the last for days than I will hear for the rest of my life.... I can only hope.
I am also starting to feel that my husband- who served four years in the Army with three deployments overseas- is also finding it to be the most challenging thing he has done as well. We don't know how everyone else does it and stays sane-because sanity has not been a guest in our house lately! We have mixed medicine in juice, food, turned it into a popsicle, bribed (a lot-with everything from candy to a train ride) and even did the old hold them down and squirt it in... which ended up all over the the towel I laid down and me.... Thankfully, as I am typing this it has been almost 8 hours with no fever reducing medicine and Landon feels perfectly normal. I will take his temperature to be sure once he wakes up- but I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed.
Now.... for other news...
I am now 37 1/2 weeks along. My doctor has been monitoring his size (she isn't sure she wants me to have another 10 pounder) and by the way she talks it sounds like she might induce after next weeks appointment. So- we might have an addition to our family in a little over a week! Wow... typing that makes it feel a little more real and I still have a lot to get done. Not so much at home, but a lot to get done at school. Hence the need for my little man to make a recovery so I can make the most of these last four days of break!
Landon has started coming to terms with the thought of having a baby brother. He loves showing off the baby's room to whoever stops by and did a great job holding a baby boy that friends of our had... but we will see how things turn out when the little man gets here. I'm sure things are bound to change.
I have a funny story to share about Landon, jellybeans, the baby and Nick... but I will wait until next time.
Please enjoy a few recent pictures .....
