Hello from the world of Landon! We hit a major milestone tonight... so I thought I would share. We have been trying for about month to get Landon to eat baby cereal, but thus far he hasn't wanted anything to do with it. (I think he may have a little of that stubborn side from the Powells/Mays.....) Today though everything changed, the Dr. gave us the go ahead to add some fruit to the mixture to try and make it a little more tasty. Naturally Nick and I added our favorite... apples! At first he still wanted nothing to do with it. He screamed and yelled for about 10 minutes and then I had the brillant idea of putting it on my finger, he loved it the minute it touch his tongue. After he realized he liked it he decided getting more of it off of the spoon at one time wasn't so bad either... :)

So it was a feat of Landon vs. Nick and Ashleigh..... and tonight we celebrated victoriously with a bath (as you can see he needed it) and a baba.

Love and kisses to you both!

Notice the shiny spots on the neck and shoulder area.... ceral and apples, everywhere! :)

Our House- For Erin

This post is mainly for Erin... (Sorry Suse, but you saw it in person). Erin, I know you have asked a few times for me to post pictures of our house and I am finally getting around to it. My apologies in advance though... I just realized I loaded them backwards so we are going to work from the downstairs up! :)

This is our spare bedroom. It is downstairs in the lower level of the house. The pictures in the back as you can see are leftovers that have not been placed anywhere.... we are getting there though.

This picture and the next two our of our downstairs family room. We were really lucky and got the furniture from a lady mom works at State Farm for a very nice price!

Fireplace across from all of the furniture you just saw and those doors are closets.

More of the downstairs.... with our space heater... it gets pretty cold down there.

The view into Landon's room from the hallway. I only took one picture of his room because he was taking a nap in his crib.. you get the idea though.

THis is the hallway leading back to the bedrooms upstairs and you can barely see the stairs going down to fhe front door and the downstairs...

Living room upstairs, very dark picture though. sorry.

These three are of the kitchen... Nothing real exciting there....

So there you go Erin.... Just a little peek of the house. Sorry it took so long to get it up here. Things are going pretty good here.... I have been taking some videos of Landon so maybe I will figure out how to download them and post them here soon! Love you!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, I have officially become Martha Kylander and my poor son will have to live with it for the entirety of his life... The good news is, Nathan has survived so hopefully Landon will to! :) As you all can see I got a little bored the other day and figured Valentine's Day was coming up so why not have a little fun with it?!? I mean any other normal mom dresses her son up in a red onsie and forces him at three months old to hold up a Be Mine sign... Right? Maybe not, but oh well! I have a few pics for you to enjoy from our lovely day!

This was our best one... as you can see I gave in and held the sign for him! :)

Ummm....don't think so Mom!

Oooo look, a new crinkle book! Thanks Mom!

All in all it turned out to be okay! I don't think I scarred him for life and if I did, the smile proves otherwise!
Love you both and hope you have a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day! Landon sends his best!

I really am a mom.....

Well yesterday was my defining moment as a mom. You would think the nine months of housing another human being, the morning sickness, the labor, the delivery, the past three months of diapers, feedings as well as a host of other things would have clued me into the fact that I am a mom..... but no. It took something totally different, something that I never really thought of. Something I did everytime I saw one of my friends' moms at school, church or somewhere in town. I walked into Landon's daycare, two little boys about the ages of two and four had beat us there. His babysitter was in the other room fixing pancakes when it happened. The four year old took one look and me and bellowed into the other room (like only a four year old boy can do), " CHERYL, LANDON'S MOM IS HERE!" Yep, thats it ladies... I am no longer Ashleigh, I am now Landon's Mom. My defining moment, it took a four year old to tell me. I looked and Landon at that moment and thought to myself, Wow, I really am a mom.... I have to start being responsible. Who would have thought, me, responsible?!? :) I guess I don't have a choice anymore!

I know this isn't a "how we are kind of post" but I thought you might like to read about my moment.... XOXO Love you!

Don't expect me to be good at this... :)

Well, because I love my cousins so much I decided to go ahead and start this thing. Please don't judge, I am not a great writer and not doing this because I am... it will simply be a place to write what we have been up to and how our life changes. Right now I am waiting for my sleepy husband and son to wake up so I can try to convince them that driving to Bolingbrooke (spelling?) is a excellent idea.. I want to go to IKEA! :) The good news along with that.. Landon slept in his crib last night for six hours before waking up!!! He has been sleeping through the night since he was 7 weeks but the Dr. had him sleeping in his carseat due to some Bronchitis issues... sleeping in his crib hasn't been so great, so last night was AWESOME!

Yesterday we spent the day at Grandma's eating fried fish and chicken. It was an excellent time had by everyone. I think they enjoyed seeing Nick and I, but I am feeling a tad left out because I am no longer the one they want to see... Landon has taken that role over! ***Note the picture!

School is going great, although it's importance level has dropped a tad since October. Hopefully, this semester will go a little smoother and I will feel like I have my head on straight again. However, I won't be suprised if that doesn't happen again for the next 18 years or so... my poor students. :)

Well that is all for now, I don't really know what else to talk about, but I will try my best to keep you informed. Miss you bunches!
